POPES OAK FARM - West Sussex, England

West Sussex boasts castles, cathedrals and such famous former residents as Shelley, Tennyson and Wilde. But this English paradise - located on the island's southeastern coast - can also see some ferocious weather.

That's one of the reasons Brian and Sheila Chessell chose Andersen® windows when they renovated the aged Popes Oak Farm. "We have a particularly exposed site here," Brian explains. "There is nothing between us and the Downs and we often have 80 mph winds."

Besides the superior protection and energy efficiency of the Andersen Perma-Shield® System, there was another reason for the Chessell's choice in windows. Popes Oak Farm, like so many of the buildings in West Sussex, is steeped in English history. The Chessells, who turned two brick and mortar stables on the farm into a magnificent home, made every effort to preserve that past. Andersen windows, with their fine craftsmanship and knot-free pine joinery, are just one example of the couple's attention to detail.
