A History of Invention and Innovation
Andersen Corporation has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to seize innovation - the new way to meet customers' needs - since its early days as Andersen Lumber Company.
Hans Andersen's first window invention was "the 10-minute window" in 1903. He created horizontal and vertical frame pieces in several standard sizes so that the pieces could be quickly assembled in a wide variety of window sizes without cutting or trimming. Thus began a legacy of invention and innovation in all aspects of the business.
